Hi everyone,

I am very new to the 3000 NG and I am using the default set-up for my DVD and Cable.

I have a Sony STR-DA30ES and I was able to find a custom set-up in the files section that has what I am looking for. Is it possible to use just the custom set-up for the receiver only and import it to the default set-up?

Yes. And it is much simpler to do than it is to write about or to read about.

How to get it into your pcf:
1. Be sure it's a pcf to begin with. Import it (File/Import ccf) if it's a ccf.
2. Open it.
3.In the component list window at the left, left click once on the name of the component you want to copy into your pcf.
4. Push Ctrl-C (Copy command).
5. Open your custom pcf.
5. In the component list window at the left, left click once on the name of the component that you want to place the copied component under. If you want the copied component to be the third one on the list, left click once on the name of the second component on the list.
6. Push Ctrl-V (Paste command).
7. The component should now be copied into your pcf.
8. Save the file. Give it a different name -- the original name plus a 1, for instance -- in case there are any problems down the line.
9. Edit, alias, etc.
10. Safe every once in a while and increment the number. If you have opened files in different directories, this software is too dumb to know that when you save, you want to save in the directory it was saved in last time. It will save in whatever directory you looked at last time to open or save any other file. So always do a "Save As," even if you don't change the name, so Windows will show you what directory it's about to be saved in.
