I just bought a used TSU3000 to replace one that was bad.

It works great with 1 exception....for some strange reason the contrast on the display wants to sort of reset itself after a few days. Like I set the contrast to how I want it...and a few days later...I go to touch the screen and the contrast is all screwed up again. Always dark.

Any thoughts on this?

Are you using a docking station? I think if you discharge the bateries you lost this setting.

Also load the latest firmware.

I use the docking station and I never wait for the batteries to be totally dead before a new charge. Should I do that? Totally use up the batteries? Then re-charge them?

I just dont get why that feature gives me problems and everything else works just fine.

Are you perhaps just seeing temperature fluctuation? A warm LCD will be darker than a cold LCD. This is a particular pain on the original Pronto.

I dont know to be honest with you. I never had the problem on the other Tsu3000. When it happens....it happens when it hasnt been touched for 12hrs or so.

I would have guessed a battery issue but then again, I dont know why everything else works fine and the contrast resets.

I agree, temperature problems are for the classic series. For the NG this is not an issue.

Did you reload the firmware?

Apparently that didnt work. I reinstalled the firmware and a day later, the contrast was messed up again.

Any other suggestions?

Humm. You have to know that when the remote reboot the contrast go back to the default setting, to know this the clock will be messed too, check.

Also I noticed that some remotes lost the clock and the contrast setting when puted in the dock. If it is hapenning it's from the hardware version nothing to do about this.

I have no probs w/ the clock.

I guess I shall just have to live with it. Its not really that big of a deal for it only happens every few days and in about 3 sec, its fixed. I was just hoping that there was a fix for it and I hope it doesnt get worse.

Anyways..thanx for the input.
