(also in Classic Pronto Forum)

Can the Philips RFX6000 be used with any remotes other than the TSU6000 and the TSU3000?
Will it work with the Marantz RC5200?

For that matter, if it can't, why the heck did Philips make a product that can be used with ONE original generation and ONE new generation product?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Both the RFX6000 and the 6500 can be used with any RF enabled Pronto Classic or Pronto NG product. that is U.S. based. As far as I know, all NG products (including Marantz) are RF enabled. All 8 Philips NG products definitely are RF enabled - U.S. 3000/3500/7000/7500 and European 950/960/980/990. Of course, the European models need to use the European equivalents of the RFX6000/6500.

RFX6000 can be used with all US versions of Philips Pronto and Marantz remotes that are RF capable.

Thanks to you guys and your good answers, I could knock off work tonight at 5:45 instead of about 7:00 p.m.

I was working on a system where a TSU6000 had been stolen, components went bad and the client wanted to move the sources. We're doing some half measures just to get him TV again. Once I got the video working properly, I was able to get the audio covered by using the TSU6000's RF setup in an RC5200 that I had with me. If I had believed what others have said, that the RFX6000 works with the TSU6000 and TSU3000 (without mentioning other models), I would have had a much harder work day.

Thanks again.

9600 is wifi. Not plain RF.

Peter,

As far as you know, the RFX6500 will work with the 7000 as well as the 7500? It has been so long, I had forgotten.

Thx Dave

Hi Guys, can I ask a question regarding the RFX6500 in you don't mind.

I have 2 American 3500's that work on a NZ (I assume Euro) RFX6500. I've just bought a second hand 3000 for the bedroom (in NZ rather than importing from the states so I assume Euro also) and I can't get the device working via RF.

I've checked the RF settings are the same on all three devices and no go, am I missing anything inluding any setting/frequency differences between Euro/USA?

Thanks in advance for any help.

The European and US models use a different RF frequency. Therefore they are not interchangeable - unless you've got the technical skills to re-build it ;-)

Thought as much, thanks for the confirmation and only wish it dawned on me before making the purchase.

Thanks for the reply Michael,
