I've just gotten a file for a 27 year old product, and it is in .sit format. I understand this needs stuffit to open. The source describes it as stuffed GIFs.

But did someone here say I could change the suffix to .zip and open it with the PC zip program? Do I have to buy stuffit?

Thanks in advance.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Maybe you've solved this, but in case not...

Stuffit Expander is what you need. It will expand virtually any form of compressed file and is available free for Mac and Windows.

I have zero clue as to whether this is fixed, indicating that it probably didn't matter and might have been a miscellaneous assortment of pictures emailed to me. I can't remember now. I appreciate the answer, and will look it up.

Thanks!

Hey -- I found a file, DNF Test.sit, from April 20! I wonder what the heck it is and where it came from.

Thanks again.
