The remote works fine while I using it, but after the screen times out, the remote will not turn back on. This does not happen every time the screen times out but most, and every time it sets for a while I can not use it. To fix the problem all I have to do is unplug the battery.

I just tried updating the firmware, and the remote still has the same problem.

How often does it sit idle? Do you use timers? We need a bit more detail.

No timers, sometimes it will sit idle for 10 seconds and not work, other times is may take 10 minutes. I tried loading the program into different remote, and it worked fine. I also tried loading the default program back into the remote that is not working, and it had the same problem. This is a brand new remote, and seems to be a problem with the remote right out of the box. We are contacting Phillips to send back.
