Hello, I want to buy a TSU3000 but i'm reading many reviews of users thinking negatively about this remote. Problems with difficult vision of the screen, poor learning ability and short reliability. I like this item because of flexibility to program and design screens. I'd like to know the opinion of users who are working with this remote for a long time.
Thanks

The 3000 has been superceded by the 3500.

Ok, but you only can buy it in a few places and for a very expensive price. However you can buy a 3000 for a much better price and in many places...

The 3000 works. It learns fine for most people and most of them are reliable. That said, the thing that drives many people crazy is the poor screen contrast. You need to see it. If you think you can live with that contrast, then go ahead and buy one. However, you can get a refurb 7000 for around $400 and a used one for even less. I expect you will be much happier with the 7000 than the 3000. Consider that you are going to invest many hours into programming your Pronto, the price differential is pretty minor unless you don't value your time.

Search on eBay. Google "tsu7000 refurbished". Look on Remote Central's marketing site. If you don't see one listed there, you can post a notice that you would like to buy one and sellers will contact you. Trust me they are easy to find. Even Phillips itself is selling tsu7000 refurbs on eBay for around $450.
