I have just bought a Panasonic TX32LXD60 LCD tv and when I turn it on my Xantech infa red extender constantly shows it is receiving. I know a SAD light has the same effect but would you expect an LCD TV to cause this?

Yes, sometimes it can cause interference. Bigger question is: Does this level of interference cause the IR to function poorly? If not, that is a good thing. If the "alway on" LED is bothersome, you can try re-locating the IR receiver further away from the TV.

The IR still seems to work ok but as you say it is the led always on that bothers me. It has been suggested that a coloured film over the lens will help.

Any idea which colour mighy help?

Yup LCD screen light up standard Xantech like a Christmas tree. Usually making IR reception problematic.

Have not tried the colored film. Hvae covered part of the receiver with tape and gotten the light to go out. But this cuts the useable IR cnagle down.

MAybe change the IR receiver for one of the Plasma/LCD proof ones?

I have the same problem. The light will be bright for about a minute or two and then your remote will work. I talked to Xantech and they said to use a CFL friendly repeater. The CFL might not work on some IR equipment because of the limit on the frequency range it has. But if the light is really bugging you then I would try the CFL friendly.
