Does anyone have the codes for the JVC DVD recorder, VCR combo? I bought an "open box" at a discount without a remote control unit. I expected to be able to find the codes for the remote in the files on this website. But the only code I could find is for a DR-MV1S. Although many functions work, there are a few missing (e.g. eject, navigate, rec link ...).

Thanks in advance.

Please post the IR code data for the 'Power Toggle' code. The, we can tell you how you can use a utility makehex.exe to generate all 256 functions that equipment uses.

In preparation for this, you might do a search on MakeHex and start reading. MakeHex is available in the Pronto Files Section (not Pronto NG).

Lyndel,
I was thinking of working out the code alternatives and through trial and error figure out the missing functions. I didn't know about Makehex, but I chickened out and just returned the JVC DVD recorder/VCR combo. I bought a new-in-the-box Panasonic, complete with remote.

Thank you very much anyway! As others have noted, you are amazing. This is an awesome community.

I may just research the MakeHex anyway. I'd like to find descrete codes for my Pioneer TV's picture-in-picture function that toggles through three settings once it is initiated, before it returns to a single picture.
