I have a very weird problem with my TSU7000 where after a period of time, a couple of the IR codes in my configuration (IR database codes not learnt codes) start producing slightly different IR codes than they should and the only way to fix it is to reload the configuration.

I know this sounds hard to beleive but I have confirmed this multiple times. I have one TSU7000 and a couple of TSU3000 and all of them have these same IR codes loaded into their configuration. All three remotes will work fine initially but then after a period of a couple of weeks the TSU7000 starts double firing (100% consistantly) on a single press for these particular codes. At the same time the TSU3000's still work fine (pointing to a problem with the TSU7000). By simply reloaded the configuration (unchanged) onto the TSU7000, everything starts working fine again.

It happened again today and I captured the IR code that the TSU7000 produced before and after the configuration reload. The buttons in question are the cursor buttons from an LG TV. Below is the details of the Left cursor button:

Code in Configurations (both on TSU7000 & TSU3000's):
LG- TV - Codeset 0469 - menu left - duration minimum

When the problem occured I then learnt the output of this button on the TSU7000 into a TSU3000 (as a way of seeing what IR code it was producing with the problem). I did this multiple times with the same button and with both short and long presses. These are what was learnt each time:

Short Press:

I then reloaded the configuration and learnt the ouput of the TSU7000 once again in the same way. These were the new results:

Long press:
900A 006D 0000 0001 DED6 1DE2

900A 006D 0000 0001 DED6 1DE2

As you can see the IR code for a long press is the same in both cases (as expected) but the short press IR code is different and slightly longer!

The version information on the TSU7000 is:
App version 3.8.14
Database version 3.52

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is getting very frustrating having my pronto stop working for this device correctly every few weeks.

Sounds like you might want to try and set the minimum duration on the IR code to something like 0.2 seconds. This is possible using the newer software.

I'll try that to see if it stops it from occuring (won't know for probably a month if it's succesful). Any idea why I have to do this though (especially given it is one of the IR codes in the database)? I don't understand why reloading the same onfiguration fixes it?

If this is happening about once a month, you may be encountering issues with what has been reported to be a memory leak or other firmware problem with 3.8.14. If you were not experiencing the Macro Cancellation (search using these 2 keywords), problem, you should be able to downgrade to the 3.8.11 (or whatever the previous version was) version and things will probably get better.

The way to avoid this problem is to reset the remote about every 2 weeks using the reset button under the back cover.

Thanks for your advice. I'll give those things a try.
