I'm an RAV-2000 owner, and I am converting to a TSU-7500 which I plan to buy later this year. I want to replace most of the system page icons with device icons as I prefer navigating by pressing an icon to select the device I want to control. I've searched this site, and have found the page that tells how to customize the system page icons; however, I did not find the answer to my question on that page.

Reading on page 14 of the "ProntoProEdit NG v2 Online Help Documentation" PDF file, I find the following statement:

"Besides system items, you can place normal buttons on the System Page. For instance, you would like to have all your devices on your System Page so that you can navigate easily between the available devices. By selecting one of the devices, you jump to that device on your ProntoPro NG. To indicate which device is active, you highlight the button for the selected device."

I understand what highlighting a button means when you are in the editor; however, the last sentence in this paragraph makes it sound like it is possible to highlight a button that has been pressed when the configuration file is running on the remote. To compare this to a button in a Windows UI or on a Web page, it sounds very similar to "checking" a button after you have pressed it to indicate that that particular button has been selected.

Even though it appears to say in the manual that you can do this, I have been unable to find instructions on how to do it.

Has anyone done this? If so, would you please explain how you did it?

Thanks in advance.
All the best,
Matthew

Say you have a menu bar with 4 device buttons on the System page.

Device 1 Device 2 Device 3 Device 4

When you press Device 1, you jump to the starting page of Device 1.

On each page of device 1, you would need to place a panel or a button over the Device 1 button from the system area. The image that you'd use for this button is an image that shows some highlighting or a different default text color for Device 1.

You'd do the same for Devices 2 to 4 as well.

The easiest way to learn how this is done and see what you will need to do is to download Daniel's 3000 or 7000 PCF file as he put a menu bar at the top of his system page. However, for each device, you will see one icon that "hides" the corresponding "device" button from the system page.

My guess is that it is stating that you highlight the button by making it look different.

For example, you might put 4 device buttons at the top of the system page and color them grey. These 4 buttons will now appear on every page unless covered up by something else.

To indicate which device page you are actually on, you might overlay a red button over the grey button for selecting the device, so there are three grey and one red button showing.

Thanks for the replies. If I had thought about this a bit more, I might have figured this out myself. It seems obvious now that both of you have pointed it out.

Thanks again.
All the best,
Matthew
