Has anyone had any trouble installing the newest version of Pronto Edit NG? Even though I have been uninstalling every time I upgrade, the newest installer keeps recognizing a previous version. I have done a manual search and deleted things manually, and deleted pronto edit NG out of the registry.

I have come to the conclusion that there is no way to fix this other than backing up my files and reformatting. I have gone through the registry, searched through hundreds (maybe thousands) of folders and nothing. Philips needs to come out with a new way to update.

The problem is more Microsoft's than Philips.

There is a tool on the Microsoft site for cleaning up MSI installations that aren't properly removed. I can't remember what it is called but you should be able to search the Microsoft Knowledge Base to find it.

Have you retried re-installing the previous version you had, then removing it?

I had tried installing a previous version.

I think I fixed the problem. I deleted my wife's user account off of my computer. I don't know if there was a stray file or something. The MSI suggestion is a good one, thanks. I may get the tool in case I have a problem again.

It could be that you had it installed under both accounts, and you need to uninstall it from both accounts.
