I have some issues with learning IR codes.

My codes learned to the Pronto directly and through PPENG are still considerably different. Yet, both seem to work in most cases. It's not like they are similar either; numbers are totally different for each. What is the reason for this?

However, I will say that I seem to have more success with learning through the Pronto's interface than through the software when it comes to buttons actually working when I test them after they are learned. So in effect, I have been making several pages of blank buttons, adding labels to them, and learning directly to the Pronto (through Tools - Learn). I've read in the FAQ on this site that it's best to hold the button on the OEM remote until the "beep". However, the user guide states to press it for one second. Which is which as far as length of press? Is it one second directly through the Pronto and "hold until the beep" when using PPENG?

Other and more important issue. Dual Decks. I have a remote for a Marantz dual deck CD-Recorder, as well as the one with my Samsung TV, that have dual modes. This is not like the "hold down stop while you press record" command for recording with JVC VCRs (I still have to do this one..) but rather you press a "deck A" button for say, and every button you press afterwards on the OEM remote will only affect deck "A". If there's something playing in deck "B", pressing the buttons will not affect it, unless you press "deck B". Then, button presses would affect "B" and not "A". The same is for my TV, where I can press the "VCR" button and afterwards the channel digits and CH +/- will not do anything unless I press the "TV" button again. I am having a problem with this...

I have learned both the "CDR" (recording deck) and the "CD" (source deck) buttons. Pressing them on the Pronto seems to do nothing (they work using the OEM remote). Perhaps they are not working, but I've tried learning them several times. All other buttons work fine. I have a CD playing in the "CDR" deck, and I press the "CD" button. I then press a track number or "stop" and it will affect the "CDR" deck. It should not. Any ideas?

Thanks.
