Hey All,

Just got a 3000 and am still putting that all together. (A Whole lot of reading.) But I'm looking for an inexpensive way to be able to point the remote at the screen and still get it control my projector which is above and behind me. Instead of building my macros and having to point the remote in two different directions. The wife would consider that to be to difficult. It is not far at all 15ft tops.

You could buy an RF Extender from Philips (i forget the model number) and set this on top of your TV and have it "blast" the IR signal back to your projector. Or you could invest in a "wired" solution such that you put a stick-on IR emitter onto your projector and have an IR receiver elsewhere.

Ummm....a mirror?

I say that in a sort of joking way, but wouldn't a small mirror or photo with a reflective glass frame pointed at the correct angle do the trick? I know I can bounce my remote control signals off a mirror with my back to the equipment and the signals seem to get there.

Or, if your an electronical kind of guy, I can e-mail you a PDF file for a circuit you can build and put into a small Radio Shack box that would also do the trick.

Hey i1patrick,

I am an electronical kind of guy. I'd be really interested in your PDF. please and thank you goalie@hoflink.com

Thanks for the offer. I'd be interested but shipping would probably make not worth it for both of us.

The emmitters in the Prontos are very strong on the output. I assume, since you mentioned a projector, that you have a screen to project onto. Have you tried just pointing at the screen and operating the projector? I bet you would get a response, since the screen is reflective anyway. I have several devices scattered around that I control with my Pronto, and I have never had much of an issue with having to be accurate with pointing in any given direction. Enough IR bounces around the room that everything just works. I would give it a shot, it's definitely worth a try.

Matt,

I'll try it out, it might work but I do have it in a hushbox that by itself causes a problem. But as you say it is worth a try.

Again Lack300 thanks for the offer but at the exchange rate it would cost more then full retail here in the US.
