I'd like to find out more about it and where I can get the euro version and at what price

the Euro model is the RU980, it is the same as the 700 except for the internal ir database and rf frequency. try searching on google.co.uk and limit search to uk only. as far as "what can it do", what would you like it to do?

N.B. If you're thinking of using IR rather than RF, a 7000 from the States (given the prevailing exchange rate) might be a cheaper option.

2 more questions:
I've read that the 950 is a bit slow ie there is a bit of a delay after pressing a button before the IR is sent. Is this significant and is it slower than the 940?

Is the pronto 970 the original pronto pro?

There have been a few issues with the 950, but I think others, better qualified, can give a more up date answer.

Yes, the TSU 6000 / RU 970 was the original Pronto Pro.

I am trying to use Rf with the 7000 in the UK. Is this possible? It works very badly.

The 7000 uses a different RF frequency to the 980. Yes it should work, but . . .

1). If you use a 7000 you'll need to get an extender that uses the same frequency; i.e. one from North America.

2). The frequency used by the 7000 is illegal in the UK.
