I would like to announce that RemoteInstaller.com is looking for 20 beta-testers who need their remote controls customized.

RemoteInstaller.com is a service where you can buy customized remote controls.

The site offers service for the entire line-up of Pronto’s Next Generation touch-screen remote controls, Philips ProntoPro TSU6000 and Home Theater Master MX-3000.

The configuration is as follows:

- Configuration of the infrared codes needed to control your devices;
- Setup of the interfaces for all your devices, including the necessary buttons for controlling AV system;
- A variety of graphic styles to choose from.

The project is in beta,so as I mentioned above we are looking for 20 beta-testers who need their remote controls programmed. RemoteInstaller.com will do it completely free, and all you have to do is enter the information about your devices on the site. Go to the section Customize your remote control, choose the one you own and fill in the device list.

Once you have your device list entered, we will email you a personal configuration file. There may be a bit of e-mailing involved in order for us to provide you with adequate service.

So if you are interested in testing it out, either reply here or e-mail me. (admin@remoteinstaller.com)

I've posted the message here as well:

I thought the "NG" was for Next Generation.

Are you all doing the TSU 6000? 3000? or just the 7000?

Is this for existing owners, or just for people buying from your site?

Do you needs to be US based and what age of kit is acceptable - I mix bang up to date with aged DVD!

Viking,

During beta testing we provide a free customization service for your existing remote control.

There is no need for you to be US based. We provide all services via e-mail, so it doesn't matter where you actually are.

If you are interested, please feel free to contact me.

BTW - I have programed my pronto without having a single Pronto qualification! I think you might find that there are several people on this site who have done the same.

Your FAQ are maybe a little overstated ;)

My big question is, how would you customize my TSU3000 remote to control my 400-disc Sony DVD player? I've seen examples of others setting up screens full of icons of DVD jacket covers where you press the jacket cover image and the macro runs to enter the disc number one character at a time to play that particular movie.

No reasonable person would expect you guys to go that far, but what do you think you could come up with for something like that?

Regarding control of a Sony CD or DVD jukebox

If the company offering these services plans to use SNL, please don't expect free support making a profit in this commercial venture based on extensive my freeware support.

You may contact me via email addy on profile should you have proposals or questions as to what you can do with SuperNudelist.

Steve,

Thanks for your feedback! I'm sure there are a lot of people who program their remote controls on their own.

Still there are people who are not technologically inclined and don't want to mess with electronic devices in fear of breaking them.

The service we provide is targeted at those remote control users who either don't have a lot of time or have no intention on investigating how it works.

Lyndel,

Thanks for your interest in our offer!

We don't use SNL as well as any other free or commercial software to configure remote controls so that they operate DVD/CD changers.

Just curious as to how someone who wants to buy a 3000 will pay the extra $80 or so bucks when they can purchase on on the left side bar here for $179.95. Do you also provide the DS or RF extender?

I would love to see an example of your programming/design abilities. Could you post one of your pcf files on your site for us to download and check out?
