Hi All,

I am helping a client re-orient his original installer-created .pcf, to accomodate some new equipment. I am scratching my head over this one:

No home page is installed so it boots to the Device Overview page. On the Device Overview page, the client chooses his DSS button and he says it changes the output on his receiver. In the Simulator, I do see an IR burst before it switches screens.

I did not think the Device Overview could accept or pass any links or codes? It does seem to be doing something but I can not figure out how this is accomplished.

Any ideas?

Many Thx Dave

hehee - Interesting. I think I figured it out. Never seen it designed this way before.

This installer did not put the IR codes in a reference location, They are all imbeded into the display buttons. So, outside of normal conventions.

So, what I found was interesting. Within each Device, in the Hardbuttons Page, under The Actions tab, the installer put a IR code there so that when the Device is entered from the Device Overview page, it sends out a code to switch the receiver (apparently) and then it switches to that Device Page.

Thought I had seen everything....

So, Now, Dave...

You see why Peter, myself, and others suggest creating a hidden panel where you can store codes for your Device Action List and each hard button on the device.

This way, you can use Shift-Drag to copy the codes easily and promote better understanding of the config file.

If you store the codes directly inside the HardButtons, you cannot use the Shift-Drag to quickly copy actions.

Guess this tip will make your next revision???

FYI, the older Prontos worked this way. In fact, if you look @ Daniel's 3000 PCF, you'll still see a page labeled 'NoIR'. On the legacy remotes, anytime a device was pressed from the menu, the action list for that device was executed, unless the user held down the left or right button that was labeled 'NoIR'.
