The 7000 uses the same power supply as the older remotes. It outputs 12VDC regulated. Therefore, you can also search the Pronto Forum for a suitable replacement in the UK.

The American Charger should NEVER be plugged directly into 220V systems. If you do, you will most likely blow either the Charger, your DS, or both.

Hi,
When you do get your 7000 from the states, which I also did replacing my 980. Makes sure you get the polarity right when connecting the docking station to the new 220v. transformer !! I`ve read a copple of times that some people got it wrong and wrecked their docking station .... So you`de best check to polarity with a volt meter or something !!! Also make sure it has enough power (atleast 400mA) ..........

Perhaps the pcf files generated by other users
is not as extensive as mine, but have had recently
extensive download problems, which happens on
large file to many in this forum for the TSU7000.
Phillips has promised upgrades to activate an
additional 16 MB of internal memory, and had not
come through with their promise for the 3 quarter
of this year yet.

The new firmware fixed many problems, but the
download problem is real and is quite frustrating.
If I had it to do over, I would probably purchase
the new competetor, the MX-3000 which many are
doing. Also Phillips is coming out with a new
remote as well which has been recently announced
on this web site, the RC9800i which I would give
serious consideration to, however it is Philips
which places into a similar class to the 7000.

Hey Ti. I am not sure whether you read the update I gave on my current .pcf file or not. If you make sure you are only using 256 color / 8-bit bitmaps in your .pcf file you will save a ton of room. I reduced my .pcf's file size by half doing this. I've got plenty of room now to hold me over while we wait for the 32 megs.

Hi Lowpro,
I have 857 bitmaps (about 1/10th in .bmp and the rest are .pngs.) One can view them in the zip. What is the best way in your opinion to edit all of these. Can you automate the conversion in PS and then rezip, or do you need to actually reload each one independently in your opinion.
Thanks,
Ti -

And oh, by the way, Phillips finally got back to me regarding this problem. I attach my email and theirs below for your viewing enjoyment:

Dear Mr. ----------------,

The problem may be related to the fact that the PCF file in use is corrupted. In that case, ProntoPro NG can crash, although the device is in working condition. Therefore, please do following, in order make the device stable again. Take out the batteries for at least 24 hours, then put them back in and keep the reset button pressed for at least 5 second. Pronto should reboot again and than you should be able to download your PCF file again in the device, that should accept any changes made to your PCF.

It is more likely that the problem is software than hardware related, therefore please do this first, before applying for a RMA.

We hope we answered your question satisfactorily.

With kindest regards,
Drs. Vincent I. Pfeil

MY ORIGINAL EMAIL:
The TSU7000 will no longer accept new buttons. The addition of a button causes a download failure. Whereas the addition of identical pages is accepted. I would like a replacement device as the pcf is only 2.2 MB. When unziped the xml is 2.5 MB and the bitmap file is 6.5 MB. I received the device for my birthday in March of this year. Please let me know what to do with the unit.

Using WinRAR, extract the bitmaps directory from your .pcf file. Then resave your bitmap files in the 256 color 8-bit format. Once you are done add them back into the .pcf file using WinRAR overwriting the originals. That should do it. I did it the manual way. I was not thinking at the time I guess. The above described method should work as far as I know. I'm sure if it won't someone will speak up. :-)

By the way, if you have Photoshop you should setup an action to resave and close your bitmaps 24 at a shot. This will speed the process along dramatically rather than having to open, and resave each bitmap manually. That is what I did.
