Update: I purchased an X10 low-voltage relay controller for about $20, and wired it into the control box for my screen. Screen control is now 100% reliable, since the Pronto has no trouble sending X10 commands through the ir543. The click associated with relay activation is somewhat louder than I'd like, but nothing I can't live with.

Until Philips makes the TSU7000 more Somfy-friendly, I'd recommend this route to others (at least for the up command -- down and stop work fine with the codes posted earlier in the thread).

Cheers,
Tim

Man, I had the same problem on a job last month! I tried for HOURS to get the screen to respond. I don't remember if I was having trouble with the up or down though.

The client was upgrading from a good 'ol sturdy TSU6000. Wanted the hard cursor buttons. All I did was convert the .CCF to a .PCF and the code stopped working! I compared the two hex codes from both configurations and the 7000 actually changed the numbers! I tried to cut and paste to no avail.

I tried to teach the codes in every learning trick I know ( through notebook paper, in the dark, through the shirt, hand over remote then quick flash, etc.)

I finaly got a code to work 85% of the time. It still bugs me to know that there is a 15% chance for failure.

I will check the laptop tommorrow to see which code gave me the headache.

Thinking about it, I think it was "down". I remember the image on the bare wall.

I will post the codes tomorrow.

The list of updates contained in the latest version of the Pronto Pro NG firmware that was released this past December (version 3.4.16) mentioned the following:

"Somfy code recognition now works with all Somfy remotes"

I have the TSU 3000, and it took me a long time to get the Somfy codes to work reliably (and I have to use the RF/IR box to get it to work reliably for me).

I've been thinking of upgrading my remote to the TSU 7000, but have been holding off since the TSU 7000 didn't handle the Somfy codes reliably.

Has anyone with the Pronto Pro tried the latest firmware (version 3.4.16) to see if it really does work? Philips has claimed in past firmware fixes (at least for one of the TSU 3000 firmware updates) that improvements were done for Somfy codes, without the "improvements" actually helping, so I'm somewhat skeptical if version 3.4.16 actually fixes the Somfy problem with the TSU 7000. But, maybe TerriO's equipment helped Philips this time....

If anyone has the TSU 7000 with the Somfy IRT103 up/down/stop codes, please let me know how it works for you.

Thanks,

randman

The new firmware seems to fixe the problem with the 'up' command when using IR, but I still only get intermittent response going through the RFX6000. Anyone having better luck?

Funny, since the Somfy "up" command only works reliably with my TSU3000 when I use RF. But, it sounds encouraging that the Somfy commands now work via IR. Is it reliable via IR, meaning does it

(a) works the first time everytime and
(b) the commands work from macros (i.e. you don't need to press the button down for a long time to get it to work?

Can you post the stop, up, and down commands that you use for the TSU7000? If/when I upgrade to the TSU7000, those commands would come in very handy. Plus, maybe someone knowledgeable about reading remote commands may be able to help answer why they work via IR but not RF.

Thanks,

randman

HAs anyone had any luck with a TSU7000 and the Somfy codes? I did get one of the up codes to work. I have conatcted Terri at Somfy and have not had any luck with her codes. I did upgrade the firmware. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have to drive 600 miles round trip to try these codes each time.

down
0000 006C 0000 000C 0005 0118 0005 00BC 0005 00BC 0005 00BC 0005 00BC 0005 00BC 0005 00BC 0005 00BC 0005 00BC 0005 0118 0005 00BC 0005 0903

before these codes, the ones he had worked on the older version of the 7000 but not on his ipronto, but now they work fine.

If you have a CCF file with the codes (hoping you have a TSU1000/2000 available), it would help them very much if you could also supply the legacy Pronto Learned Versions of the code. They will then try the relearn to see what the problem is.

Thx for both of your replies. I will keep all posted on what I find as this apparently is an ongoing problem. The Somfy codes for the shade controller in the install worked flawlessly. Can you point me to a learning area on how to convert IR codes to hex? Thx again

Well after traveling 300 miles to the site again and spending alot of time trying different codes etc I gto Iain's codes to work. I had to upgrade the firmware which I thought had already been done but hadn't taken for some reason. Then I had to hold the button for approx. 0.5 seconds and the codes worked. Programmed the codes with a macro and everyhting is good. Thx for everyone's help. By the way the codes from the IRT103 directly didn't work. Not sure why but didn't investigate too much.
