After many crashes, I am at the point in PENG where I want to take icons from my old gallery into the program. I ask to import gallery, and it looks for a file type (*.gef). Is there a way to export my four years worth of effort and get it in this 'improved' program? Thanks for any help

About your crashes...Are you using a CCF that you converted over to the new PCF file? The PENG software seems to have trouble with "groups", so if your old CCF had a lot of groups in it that might be the cause of the crashes. It is doubtful that the new icons in PENG are causing the crashes, so importing your old icons from PE4 won't help on that part.

No you can't import your old gallery all at once into PENG. It has to be done on a bitmap (icon) by bitmap basis. Also you will be loosing the benefit of the 16 shades of grey if you use your old bitmaps (4 shades ).

You will find that if you make a new PCF entirely with PENG that it is actually quite stable (I've had PENG open for several days without having a problem). It seems to be something with the conversion process of CCF to PCF. Also the emulator is a lot more stable on a noncnverted PCF.

Thanks for the speedy reply! That's why I love this place! Let me ask this; can i have new devices alias to my old tsu2000 devices without problems? I ask because I have about 200 different devices in the old ccf format, I'm hoping I can simple move these into pcf instead of reinventing the wheel.

Yes you can use a link (alias) to your converted CCF pages. It's not an official bug but try to remove any groups from the imported pages. On my CCF that I converted to PCF all I kept was the IR codes section and redesigned everything else from the ground up.

Fred,

I also converted my old ccf without any problems. But like Archer recommends, you might be better of if you import a ccf that just has the IR's in it and redesign from scratch. Sounds like a lot of work but after importing my whole ccf, I ended up gutting 90% of it anyway. I think it is easier to work on anew space vs. work around all of the old stuff, that you will probably throw away eventually.

Thanks guys. It does make sense to keep only the ir codes. One last question then- Can I hide pages like I could before? I haven't found a way to do that. If I could hide my old pages that would be a huge benefit.

Someone else can probably give a better answer because I don't use the default Ptonto cursor movements, but make a device that is hidden (right click the device and select "Hide Device" and put the pages in the hidden device that you want to hide.
