I too faced the same problem. Through some thread, got to know that its a problem in saving a PCF with groups. So, we have two optionms:
1. Do not use groups
2. Group items, do ...., ungroup them, save.
Currently, I'm sticking to the second option.

I shortened up the old style bottom tab buttons from my old CCF so they would closer to the height of the 3000's hard button labels. I have put those 4 tabs at the bottom as the labels. Since the tabs are buttons - since the left and right buttons currently do not work I can actually then press the label to get the function to work.

Here's a message I received from Philips today:

Dear Sir/Madam,

Thank you for your inquiry.

It is true this moment you cannot freely program 1st and 4th button. This problem is
acknowledged and we are searching solution for it. However this moment we have no
release date for the fix.
