I would like to have Special Action "Browse Backward" happen as part of a macro. Clearly PENG won't let you put both a Special Action and an Action on a button, so I created a single-action Macro with the Browse-Backward action. (That macro works fine.)

Then in another action list, I have an IRcode, followed by a Link to my browse-backward 'macro'.

The IRcode is sent, but the Link-to-Back seems to be ignored. Is there another way to do this?

I sure would like to be able to set (at least) the Firm buttons on a per-page basis instead of per-device. (Creating that "page" as just another device isn't quite the same since the Page+- buttons on the side switch between pages and not devices.)

Not sure what you want to do for sure with you Browse-Backward action, but can't you you a jump to do the same thing. You could have your action list play your IR code and then have it jump to whatever page the previous page would have been.

Thanks for the reply, but no, a Jump can't do the same thing in cases where the page you're on is a general-purpose page that may have been accessed from several locations. You don't know where to Jump to, but Browse-Backward does know where you were.

OK I see what your talking about. I had the same situation and to make it work I made a general purpose page (device) for each device that needs access to it. It was a lot of extra work but it works nice. You can see an example of how I did it in my PCF if you look at the "Controls" devices. Each control device is a general purpose page for my regular devices. If you want a copy of my PCF let me know.

Folks,

I tried browse forward and back and it didnt work when stepping through consecutive screens within a device. However, page forward and page backward did work, with an occasional jump back to the beginning page, within a device.

I tried using the jump back action but it seemed to be broken for my intended use. I have a button on each page of all my devices to jump to my X10 lights page. The "back" button on the lights page would only work if I used "device next/prev" or "page next/prev" to get to the lights page. The jump back never worked when I jumped to the lights page from a macro.

Hmm... I have a page with jumps to the sub controls for my amp, tv and power switches and I use back on one of the hard buttons to return to the previous device. It works fine for me and this sounds like exactly the same scenario.
