For some devices you need to send a continuous repeating signal in order to get the desired result.
For example, on my DVD player you need to hold down the reverse button to get a scan-rewind effect.
When I put this command in the Pronto it just pulses once and the DVD rewinds a frame or two.
Is there any way to get the pronto to simulate holding down a transmitter button on the original remote?

Paul,
At present, the only way to do this would be via a macro button and then stacking the same command repeatedly as the macro. Build it now and when you have ProntoEdit, just transport it over to the button under the DVD template. ProntoEdit provides for ANY button to be a macro. I've done this with my laser disc player, works fine. Of course you'll need to play a bit to determine how many blasts you want with one button press.

I have several devices that have "continuous" signal keys and they work fine (Execept they "time out" after 20 seconds or so of transmission).
When you learn a key hold the key being learned (on the sending remote) down until "Ok" appears on the Pronto. Don't just tap the key.
Volume on Sony TV; FF, REW on Yamaha VCR, FF, REW on Pioneer DVD, Volume on Meridian 561 all work fine.

Paul: I've got quite a few "repeating" signals that were learned via the method George describes. If the original remote repeats the signal while you hold the key down, the Pronto should duplicate this. It sounds simular to most CD players where you press FF once and it changes tracks, while if you hold it down it fast forwards in the current track.
I haven't experienced the 20-second timeout, but it's quite possible I haven't held a key down for longer than that. :-)
