I just recently became aware of the Pronto remote and it looks great. Can one screen, or page, I think they're called, contain buttons for certain limited functions for several devices, or does each page have to be dedicated to a single machine? I get interrupted by business phone calls (yuk) and need to pause the DVD player and fade up the lights quickly. Can I have a screen with buttons on it that just control these two unrelated functions. Pardon my naivete, but I have'nt had my hands on one yet. Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

Deane,

No problem, have what you'd like on any page(s).
Mix and match as you will, all buttons are learning what you teach them and have text that you enter. With ProntoEdit software(soon) the power gets even greater.

Just to expand on Jack's message, right out-of-the box the Pronto contains pre-set templates for a variety of devices. Each template has multiple pages, totalling way more buttons than you will ever need for a single unit. Many pages are "generic", just full of buttons. You could use one of these for what you want, or you could set up a special Device with just pages of "frequent buttons".

Naturally, with ProntoEdit you will be able to do WHATEVER you want, so it becomes a moot point.

And to just clarify a bit further for Deane.

The situation you describe is a common request and you often wish to make functions like you described with one key hit (Pause and Turn on lights). This requires a macro if you want it to be a single button. Macro's oddly enough are not allowed on the same "Device" page currently with the stand alone unit. It will be possible to have macro on the same page as the Device with the PC software to be released any day now.

So if you get one and it does not do quite what you wanted or expected it will soon.

The workaround today with the standalone unit is to jump to the macro page and then hit your "Hold for Phone Key" or use multiple buttons on the Current Device Page "Pause Button" and "Lights Button".

Thanks for the help guys. From all I've seen on the net, this one is the way to go and it looks like it will more than fulful my needs. I'm in the window covering business, so we have motorized remote control blackout shades, etc. also to control. That's one more remote to get rid of. Looking at the remotes around my chair now looks like some sort of a put-on.
