In an effort to prepare our customers(clients, friends, and fellow Prontoids) and keep them in step with the progession toward release of ProntoEdit software, we have decided to manufacture PC to Pronto cables in house, fully QC test, and then distribute them for FREE, including ground freight, to all past, present, and future customers so when software is released, they are fully prepared to take advantage of it's capabilities, regardless of whether they have or have not received a cable from any other source.
We expect to start shipping the middle part of this upcoming week to current customers and will include cables on all new shipments.

WOW! So since you charge full MSRP, and there are several places you can buy the Pronto for $299, that's a $100 cable you're 'giving' away.

Cool Deal

Yep Freddy .... get a life !!!
When the software is available & you have a lead made up... remember you don't really want to use sites like www.prontoedit.com do you ?
because you don't have any vision or foresight to see whats comming ...
If a person wishes to spend there 'HARD EARNED' anywhere that's there business. Go and buy your $2.99 PRONTO, I had a really good look & the people selling them just want your money & adios-muchachos.
Freddy.....Try running a URL..web site, bbs It's hard work. Try looking around first & see how much info/help there is out there...not that much.
Is'nt 'list' worth the friendly service, help & attitude...... i think so.
p.s. It's not actually list. :) Keep smilin' Freddy

Hmm, well it seems you've forgotten about little 'ol me running Remote Central for the past few months by myself for free. :-) Not that I'm insulted, but I really do try my best. I hope soon to have a FAST server.

You misunderstand. I got the cheapest price I could find.

I don't need a free cable to make me feel better for paying $100 more than everyone else.

BTW, As Daniel pointed out, he's doing a damn fine job on this site.... and he's doing it for free.

As you said Daniel... I really didn't forget about this great site, I didn't think your site needed too much pushing as the thread comment was originally aimed at 'metronet' & an idea that it might be charging retail to fund the pc>pronto cable.

P.S. didn't finish

Your site is really the only one I found that starts to cover 'remotes' and I love it, we can all see that as time goes on there's going to be more of these 'convergence products' around & I will be calling on your site to read up on it all...
Keep UP THE GOOD WORK !! DANIEL

Jesus Freddy, drop the attitude.

With this kind of Customer Service, I wish I DID buy my Pronto from Jack. If I did, I would be pretty much assured that I'd have a cable before the software comes out.

Holding head down in shame =(

But I do agree with you that Daniel is doing a great job with this site. If it wasn't for this site and Daniel, Jack & AHP's input, I'd probably be using the Sony 2000 and not knowing what I was missing. I cringe at the thought ;-)

Craig.

P.S. Where is this $2.99 Pronto you mention? lol

I have to agree with CanonElan2 -- with that kind of customer service, I wish I'd bought my Pronto from Jack, too. I'll never hear from my vendor again, that's for sure. OTOH, I do have the Kodak cable, so perhaps that will work. And I also don't think it would be very difficult to make a temporary one, and I've never made a cable in my life... -- Ken

To Jack:

I received my Pronto as a Christmas gift from my wife; she did not buy it from Metronet. Would you be willing to sell me one of your cables so that I do not have to wait for the cable from Philips? If so, e-mail me at jhall@crosslink.net. I would of course pay for the cable and shipping. I've never seen such great support from any A/V dealer; I wish that I had bought my Pronto from you!

Well, I was pleased with the Price/Performance with Metronet without the cable. The cable is icing on the cake.

Freddy, you don't need Metronet and Metronet probably does not need you.
