Just got remote back from repair and need to down load my ccf, but pc and laptop say that nothing is connected to the serial port. tried all possibillities that I can think of,can anyone please help!!!

Your laptop REALLY has a serial port, you're sure? If so, try tapping the screen of the remote's screen to wake it up just prior to download. If it's not a serial port you'll need an adapter. A forum search should yield results as to type. A specific Keyspan model (I forget) seems to be most popular.
