Sounds like a medical situation, I know... :-)

Actually, I'm interested in implementing the blank 'buttons' that Daniel created for 'favorite channel' pages. I have the various channel logos converted to BMP format, but I'm having a devil of a time merging the logo BMP into the button BMP. How can I go about doing this? Do I need to use a BMP editor to perform this, or is there a function of ProntoEdit which will give me this power?

Thanks!
Brent

You will need to use an image editor such as LViewPro, GIMP, PaintShopPro, or Photoshop to name a few. MSPaint may work for you but it is definitely not the easiest.

The buttons you have need to be the right size, i.e. number of pixels, to fit on the page the way you want them to. I just looked at a panel with 12 such logos on it, and they range from 64 x 11 (The Golf Channel) to 64 x 51 (Fox Sports Net). They also cannot be saved as high resolution bmps. I can't remember whether the correct choice is monochrome or 256 color, but it is one of the lower resolution choices under "Save As."
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Thanks for the info, guys! I'm playing with the different utilities that Lyndel recommended now; I used LView Pro to combine the two BMP images (very easy!), but I get an error stating that my image is too big (ProntoEdit says it can't be any larger than 240x219 pixels). So...I'll work on some resizing efforts. I did see an earlier post recommending that folks use the "LyngSat Logo" repository for BMPs...they just might be the right size!

You will still need to resize. The maximum size image you can have for a button on your remote is as you determined 240 x 219. I believe that LView has a resize option. Use it and you should be good to go.

You were right, Lyndel...plenty of resizing required. I FINALLY have my custom set of buttons representing the Rochester, NY local stations. Thank you, Adobe, for a free 30-day trial of Photoshop! :-)

..and thanks to everyone for helping me along!
