when i am downloading a ccf into an ru940, it downloads most of the way, then the pronto bleeps four times and remains dead. I have tried firmware update, and using tonto to "undead" the remote but nothing seems to work! any ideas what the 4 bleeps mean?

Four beeps indicates a corrupt CCF. This happens with the Pronto boots and encounters an invalid configuration.

So, some posibilities:

* Is, is the Pronto "crashing" during the download and rebooting with a corrupt CCF? This might also indicate a physical problem with the flash memory.

* Is the CCF you're trying to transfer itself corrupt (or somehow inappropriate for your model) and causing the download to fail part way through?

* Is there a problem with your serial cable or with your PC's serial communications (ie. you're using a USB adaptor) causing the download to abort?

thanks for your help.

eventually sorted problem.

was using tonto on a laptop with usb-serial which has always worked before.
Had to use prontoedit on a desktop and eventually got the firmware to update, but then prontoedit wouldnt download ccf, so used tonto/laptop and downloaded ccf and is now working 100%

cheers
