just bought a cheap set of 4 x 13 amp remote control sockets from Maplins in the UK. Cant get my Pronto 890 to learn codes? The remote that came with sockets says the frequency is 434mhz if this means anything?

first time the pronto has been stumped.

any help would be appreciated

Steve,

As your thread title implies, the 434mhz frequency is RF. Your 890 is not capable of transmitting RF frequencies, so this ain't gonna work. Although the newer model Prontos are capable of transmitting RF, and the European models transmit on a frequency that is PROBABLY close enough to control this device, Prontos (old or new models) are still not capable of LEARNING RF codes. There are ways to capture the signal using other equipment and then create the codes. However, it's not a technique that I'd feel qualified to discuss.

Of the Prontos, any of the Next Generation models (3000/7000) and of the Legacy (older) models the 6000. In order to have a chance to control your RF device directly you'll need the European equivilent of these (due to the RF transmission frequency differences between the European and the US versions), but I'm not sure what those model numbers are.
