I'm sure this question has been asked before. I'm trying to use some of the bitmaps from my TSU 7000 CCF(i.e. channel logos) for my old TSU 1000. I know that the 1000 can't do transparency. Whenever I try to use some of the bitmap's from my 7000's CCf they just don't look right. I tried to do a search on the subject, but I have not found the answer. How do I convert some of the images so I can use them in my 1000?
Thanks in advance,
Mike.

I have run into this in different situations when wanting to use a bitmap from a more advanced remote. Basically, everything you are doing is correct and it is a fact that a bitmap from a 7000 will just not look right in a 1000.

You don't mention a thing about what you have done to try to use these, so I have no idea if I am covering ground you have already worn a path into, but here is a process that gives me consistent good results, IF GOOD RESULTS are possible. They might not be.

In the editor for the remote, go to Button Properties, Appearance, and save the image you want.

Then open Paint. Yes, plain dumb old Paint, and open the file.

Save the file with a different name (you don't want to overwrite the original) as a 256 color bitmap. Then save THAT file, again with a different name, as a monochrome bitmap. The artwork will totally fall apart when you do this.

However, now you have two bitmaps that you can work with. Open one or the other and edit it so that it looks the way you want it to look as a monochrom bitmap.

This is a LOT of work for each bitmap, but it might get you there.

On the other hand, have you looked for channel logos in the Original Pronto Files Section? Maybe you want to use the logos from the 7000 because they look a lot cooler than the monochrome ones, but the solution for that is to get a 7000 so they will appear.

A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Thanks,
this is the info I was looking for. Yes I have looked in the file section for black and white channel logos, but some of the channelsthat I want to use were not around when those bitmaps were created. I basically tried to use the same bitmaps minus any transparent graffics, and the results were bad. Thanks again. I'll let you know how it works out.

You could also go here: [Link: satlogo.com], download the icon using right click and "save as" and choose .bmp. Then open paint, resize to taste, and save as a 256 color .bmp file.

It's not necessary to convert a color icon to balck and white in order to use it in a TS1000. The 1000 will automatically convert to B&W. The color icon does need to be a 256 color .bmp (8 bit) file, and of course you're at the programs mercy as to what color becomes which shade of grey.

Thanks to the both of you guys!!!! worked like a charm. obviously the icons don't look as great as in my 7000, but I'm just happy to have the same icons in my bedroom remote. I really appreciate all the help.
