I've programmed lots of Prontos and CHADs but until today never messed with RF.

Does it tend to be erratic? (Takes two presses of macros to get all the commands)

Every time you do a download, is it normal to have to reset the output to RF from the IR that it seems to revert back to?

Thanks for your input.

I'm a little confused since a 2000 isn't capable of RF unless it's been heavily modified internally.

But, to answer your questions, yes RF can be spotty to get working correctly. Placement of the receiver base, the amount of RF in and about the environment, and how "clean" your IR codes are can all be factors. You might also try increasing the delays in your macros slightly since RF tends to be slower than IR. I don't have a good reason for this, just my experience. You shouldn't have to reset the output settings every time you download a new ccf, UNLESS the template (base ccf) you're working with is set to IR. Check the settings using the software prior to downloading, I've modified my ccf many times, downloaded it, and not had it revert to IR. Of course the ccf I modified was set to RF to begin with.

EDIT: Now I understand (from your other posts), you're referring to the Chad, which does do RF.

Thanks for the insight there, Jim. I probably confused you. I assumed the 2000 did RF like the CHAD. I actually do all my CHADs with ProntoEdit 4 and I don't see any RF options there. Maybe if I looked at CHADedit again I might find it.

The current problem is that the Integra receiver that came with the CHAD is most erratic of all with the RF. The cable box is no problem. The TV seems to respond each time. I'll probably go back next week for further troubleshooting. Thanks for your help.

Of the original Pronto line, only the TSU6000, CHAD, RC5200 and RC9200 support RF.
