I've had my RC5000 for a few years and just got it back out again after a long time consigned to the drawer!! The first problem I had was that it wouldn't power up or charge with the rechargeable battery. I put standard AA's in and it works fine with them, but I don't know if the problem is with the charging dock or the rechargeable battery. Anyone got any ideas?
The other problem is that I have completey reprogrammed it, and when I use my Sky guide, I press down or up, and it only moves once. Is there a way to make the IR code repeat so that when I hold a button down it will scroll on the programme guide?

After "A few years" I'm sure the Nicad battery is Toast....

Try relearning the code.... It should recognize the repeating command and duplicate it acordingly.

For question #1.

The remote, like any other temperamental piece of equipment, is probably pissed off at you since you've neglected it so long. LMAO

It is probably a dead battery.

I think it will learn properly if you hold the button down until the remote says it has learned it. If you just punch it or tap it, I have learned, it won't pick up the continuous aspect of the command.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
