I have a weird problem with a TSU2000. The unit powers itself off based on the time the LCD is set to display. If I have it at 30 seconds, the remote shuts off after 30 secs. I set it to 240 secs and the remote powers off after 240 sec (unless I'm pressing keys. Once I stop, it shuts down after the # of secs).

I've tried to reflash, but it won't communicate with ProntoEdit. I can't upload a ccf or download the existing ccf either, however, if I run a terminal session, I can see the unit rebooting and see the version, etc.

Pressing (esc) should get me to a prompt, but no luck there either.

FWIW, I just picked up a Harmony 676 last week and it's nowworking great, but I hate to see the Pronto die. Besides, I still have all the discrete codes, little hacks, and such and I would like to still use it, even tho the wife actually _likes_ the Harmony :)

Any suggestions?

thanks,

Did you tap the screen to wake up the remote prior to attempting to download firmware?

Yep. When I tap the screen, it restarts, but sometimes I need to press a hard key to get it to come back on. Once it restarts, it works perfectly. It just shuts down after (n) seconds, whatever the LCD display time is set to. Pressing any hard key or icon resets the time until shutdown.

Since I can see the putput from the boot process, but not get it to recognize any kind of input, I thought of a cable problem, but that still doesn't explain the strange shutdown. BTW, both problems started at the same time. (The remote started rebooting and I lost the ability to communicate with PRontoEdit).

Could be a battery connection problem. Search for +cold +solder +electrical +tape and look at the threads you find. May be time to crack the thing open.
