That's it, I give up on trying to get my pronto to communicate. I have been troubleshooting this thing for the past month or so, using this and other resource sites. No go! So, if anybody lives in Boston, or very close by, that has actually gotten their TSU6000 to communicate with their computer, then help me out with mine. I have had it!
Thank You.
Go ahead and tell me that this is the wrong place to post this.

Have you read the Pronto FAQ?

Are you connecting via RS-232 or do you have a USB To Serial Adapter?

I've read the FAQ, in addition to; Communicating with the Pronto By, Marcel Majoor, and I've even pursued advice from the Tonto boards, I have tried on 3 different computers, (1 IBM laptop w/ 2000 Pro, 1 custom PC w/ Xp pro, and a mac w/OS10.3, and Tonto 1.44 for the hell of it.). I've tried, USB ( w/ the Keyspan19XX), and always with a DB9 gender changer, COM1, COM2...9600 baud, 115200 baud, I've woke it up, reset it and unplugged it. I'v pretty much did every conceivable thing that is suggested or written. Unless anyone has something to add.
Oh, the best result was that the remote woke up once or twice.

Was this remote able to connect to the computer before? Or did you buy this remote just recently, and unable to connect to the computer?
If I remember correctly, with the tsu-6000 you are able to plug the wire two different ways. First way is with the remote in the charger, and the other way is into the remote itself with out the charger. Have you tried both ways?
I know this for my tsu-2000, it connects each and every time that I place the remote on the charger, and press and HOLD, the back light button until connection is estbalished. The tsu-2000, connects via a connection of the side of the remote, so it doesn't matter wheather it's on the charger or not. However, with the 6000, I beleive there is a connection point on the charger itself, then a connection of the remote itself.
But since you said that you've tried on three different computer, it sounds like it's the actual connector in the remote itself. You might have a remote that will never be able to communitcate with a computer. Unless you feel like taking the remote apart and try to resolder the connections to the board.

Rob,
I bought it new. I've tried both ways of connecting. This holding down the baklight button sounds intriguing, so I'll try it. Both connector inputs can't be broken,...could they?
Thanks
