Hi,

just got myself a Marantz RC5200 and its great!! Replaced my Cambridge Audio M1+ remote, and a couple more that I needed too.

This site has been really good at helping, but I've not seen one of these problems before:

I've just got a Philips DVDR70 (75's Codes work ok) and downloaded Paul Reid's codes and templates. Using the emulator they work ok, but once inthe remote they don't work. I've sent it (using the emulator) to my old remote and that learnt it ok and that could send it to the recorder. My RC5200 says it learnt it back from the M1 but no matter what I do, it wont' seem to transmit it itself.

Has anyone come across this type of thing before and are there any fixes?

For the record, versions I'm using:
Sys V1.4.1
Apps V1.3.2
(These are newer than the ones that came with the emulator!!)
(I'd like to keep the newer versions of the firmware, how can I download it from the remote to my pc?)(Its late, I'd look for it myself otherwise :-S
Cheers,
Sven

Sven,

I'm a little unclear as to what's going on.

Are you learning the codes while hooked up to the computer, in other words through the software? If so, try learning directly to the remote. Learning through the software has been known to result in invalid codes due to timing issues.

If it's just a matter of the downloaded codes (Paul Reid's) not working, then I'd suggest relearning the codes (to Paul's template if desired) as described above.

Since this uses the RC6 protocol, you want to use the RC6 code format that will make the toggle bit work correctly. Here are the commands from Paul Reid's file in the RC6 format (most were already) and I added the typical discrete Power On and Off commands that may work for your model:
