Hi
Please forgive me if this question sucks :)
I just got a ProntoPro TSU6000 and I have no idea what I'm doing with it!
In the "files" section of this site, I see a whole bunch of complete system setup files submitted by other people.
Some of them look pretty cool.
My question is, can I just download one I like and then change it to what I need (change components, codes etc.) or are they pretty much set to work just the way they are?
Also, does anyone out there do that for other people?
Would someone be able to design one just for me?
I'd be more than happy to pay someone to do that for me as I am useless with this kind of thing and I don't want my TSU6000 to become a door stop or paper weight!
Thank You :)
Mark

All the answers are no. You can not change anything on the files that are in the file section. No one on here can make one from scratch or whatever. But it doesn't have to become a door stop. I'll send you the money for the shipping cost and you can send it to me.

All joking aside. Yes, you can download the files and change them to what you want or need. There are people who do make files from scratch to what you want. Visit the Marketplace Forum to find someone who is advertizing themselfs for that. Or you could ask, but in that forum only.

I too was somewhat overwhelmed at first. I started out by downloading configurations that had the style and basic elements (amp, receiver, vcr, etc) that I had. Then I just learned my remote codes to the buttons in that config. Very basic stuff, but it got me started. Next step was when I decided some of the downloaded stuff didn't work exactly the way I wanted, ie, didn't jump to the right page, didn't perform ancilary functions I wanted, etc. So I started making small changes. I've progressed now to designing some of my own panels, etc. - so I can assure you that - especially with the help of this supportive forum - you can do this!

Most especially, you can do this if you download ProntoEdit 4 from this site.

This program will allow you to see if more than one command is attached to a button -- for instance, choosing "DVD" might turn on the amp, turn on the TV, set the amp to the DVD input, set the TV to Video 3, and issue a PLAY command to the DVD player. You need the program to see if that kind of stuff is in there, and you need it to do that yourself once this is familiar enough to you that you can see what you want to do.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
