can some kind person tell me in idiot proof language, how to make my rc5000 learn a sky channel number for a channel button? for instance 551 for discovery?,if i try to do it it by pressing 551 in learning mode it only learns the first one or two numbers or fails alltogether.
thanks.

create a page in your ccf with blank buttons, call it something like IR codes, no graphics, no pics, just numbers/letters corresponding to the labels on the original remote, one for each of the buttons on the sky remote. This page will never be seen in the final version of the ccf.

Load the ccf file, and learn the individual buttons from the remote in to the blank grey buttons.

Re open this ccf file and go to the Discovery channel button
Double click it, and go to the action Tab.
Click alias
In the window that pops up, navigate to the page that contains your new learned codes, click on the button that you have learned No. 5 to...you should have it labeled as 5 !!!

Apply it and OK to get out.

Now add a delay, the default is fine

Another alias to number 5

another delay

another alias to number 1

You should now have one button press that sends 3 codes one after the other.

Alternatively try this link to the file section

[Link: remotecentral.com]

or do a search in the file section for
Channels Macro Group

Hope this helps

Well if you do chuck it, send it my way!!

Depends on how much you have done with ccf files before as to if you understand what I have written or not.

Best way to create any ccf file for your remotes is to create an IR codes page for each device, and learn the codes into the plain buttons. Then alias the pretty graphic buttons on other pages to those plain buttons. That way, you only learn codes once, less chance of some buttons working, and some not and you get a smaller ccf file.
Also if you change a device, only one page of codes to re learn

Glad it worked out,

Did you alias the numbers three times or use the macro ccf? For doing loads of them, merging the channel macro file to your own is the easiest way to go

Check out the file section, there are a couple of other progs to allow for quick changing of the channel numbers. Have not tried themn myself, but looks like they could make life loads easier

If you are doing a lot of Sky channels, that macro is definetly the way to go, It has a ready built macros with alias/delay/alias/delay/alias from 001 to 999. All you do is learn your codes into the first page of the macro, then alias direct to the channel numbers from the Sky icons.

I think somewhere there is already a ccf with all the Sky channel logos, with the channel numbers already aliased to the channels
