I'm hoping this can end up someplace permanent on the site, This place has been so helpful to me, I want to contribute, So here goes:
I picked up my 3rd TSU2000 on ebay a few months ago (refurb) and has been working so-so, With new batteries, it would occasionally say they needed replacing, It also liked to reboot on its own, Even just sitting on the couch! Drive me NUTZ!
Well, my temper got the best of me one day and I punched it, Dead center of the display, And made a pretty shatter with 3 knuckle impressions, Very satisfying, for a minute, until I wanted to change the channel :(
I followed the links on this site (eventually) to the current distributer (the existing link is an old company) called EARTHLCD.com and ordered the UG24U01WGHT3A for $39.00 plus $10.00 shipping. Got it in a couple days and began surgery on the remote.
It was easy following the basic instructions provided by your site, I did have to trim the black plastic mounting plate as was mentioned, I also noticed the defect that was causing the rebooting in the first place! A close examination on the battery terminals, where they solder into the board, showed that both were a cold solder joint and the connectors would physically wiggle in the connection! I broke out the iron and solder (I'm an old-school component tech) and attempted a reheat, solder won't take to the metal! (some whacky nickle plating) so, I heated and pulled out both terminals and roughed them with 220 grit sandpaper, reinserted them into the board and soldered them up no problem, no wiggle.
It is now the BEST remote I own, one other I have tells me the battery is low occasionally, I feel it suffers from the same defect, I will perform the same repair soon (before I punch it, too).
I hope my super-long discertation helps someone. If anyone wants this done and has no clue how, Shoot me an email, Maybe we can work something out.
