Hi,
I finally got a universal remote (Pronto Tsu2000) and I have been excited to begin customizing it with .ccf files, etc.

I have the serial cable hooked up correctly, as I was able to download the most current firmware upgrades for my 2K, but whenever I choose a .ccf file from here at RemoteCentral, and I try to download it from my PC to my Pronto (via ProntoEdit v4.0.5), the dl starts and then gives me an error that it wasn't able to dl it to my remote. I have tried tons of .ccfs and all to no avail.

What am I doing wrong? Please help. I am already sick of the default buttons!

Thanks so much,
~Markito

Try tapping the screen (wake up the remote) just prior to initiating the download. It's not supposed to be necessary, but it is on many machines.

I sympathize. It is so hard to know when we are dealing with some arcane unknown or some simple stupid error. This particular situation is hard to see because the remote will respond AFTER the screen shuts off if it is BEFORE the remote actually shuts down, and that all depends on the time settings you made. When I program, I set the screen and shutdown for 45 seconds or a minute. That decreases time between charges, but it makes programming easier when I don't have to keep tapping the screen.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
