First, yes I know the write protections must be unchecked in the system properties!
I've been programming the Prontos for customers from day one. This one is really wierd, though. It will download/upload just fine. Problem is the little button that should show up at the bottom of the screen isn't there! If I run the emulator, it is there. If I check/uncheck the write protections, the button hides/shows as it should in the emulator, but it just doesn't show on the device. I reset it, did the battery trick, checked versions, all up to date. Downloaded various older ccf's that were from known working customers, all loaded fine, and everything works, but.... I can't seem to get the little button to show, so I'm unable to activate the learning mode. I also tried tapping around the screen in the area where it should be, nothing.
Never seen one do this.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Dan

This will happen if the mode menu is turned off ON THE REMOTE. It is very good before delivering a remote to a client, especially one with kids, to turn of the mode menu so the little tykes can't get in and erase commands.

I just opened the PE4 emulator with a simple Ts1000 file. Holding the left click button down while on the HOME button made the setup screen appear (I think this is the same on the 2000, slightly different on the 6000, and I am not sure you need to be on the home page to do it). The panel that came up has the light and button timings on it. Scrolling down, I see a page where MODE MENU is one of the choices. Clicking on this, the MODE MENU button has a big X through it, and going back to the home page, the little book icon at the bottom of the page has disappeared.

Clicking on that button again will make the icon reappear.

I have found this setting to be independent of the ccf loaded into it; maybe I am wrong and it is simply that the emulator always comes up in the factory default mode, which is MODE MENU on. That is why you always see the icon on the emulator.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Bingo!
I knew it had to be my synapped synapses getting to me!
Been so long since I've done one, completely forgot about that. Came home and dug out my old TS1000, it did the same thing. Hit the Mode Menu, came right back.
Duhhh!
Now, what was my name....
Oh, yeah
