I am mostly an NG and Pro programmer but have had to recently program a 1000 and several 2000's and have had no luck due to the fact that i have no proper connection on my laptop its a new Toshiba. I need to find some way to make a connection from my laptop to the 2000/1000 using usb/serial etc. just not DB9 well not coming directly from the computer anyway. There has to be an answer i tried buying a DB9 converted to a serial and that didn't work maybe that should have been obvious to me but it wasn't! so any help would be very much appreciated! thanks to all ahead of time.

This has been addressed dozens of times..... Its also in the FAQ.

But as long as I'm already posting..........

Invest in a Keyspan USB to Serial adaptor. Last time I got one it was $33 from CDW.

The Keyspan is the only adaptor I've never heard a negative comment about.

So Yes, you can get adaptors for $10-$20. Dont do it......... Spend the extra and just get the Keyspan
