UPDATE: Someone sent me their old irbus.sys driver for Windows Media Center Edition. I installed it into the correct directory and rebotted.

Worked perfectly. That means that the learned codes on my Pronto now work perfectly WITHOUT any modification! Evidently this older IR driver had a forgiving receiver that didn't require the toggle bits to toggle.

Thanks to everyone who helped me out here. I'm really relieved though that I don't have to learn to hack hex codes.

Hi guys,

I'm from the TSU3000 group.

I have tried swapping the irbus.sys.

Unfortunately the 18k version extracted from the MCE2002 CD #1 does not work. No IR Response whatsoever to the Pronto or the MCE Remote. Version 5.1.2600.1106

My normal MCE2004 irbus.sys is 39k in size. Version 5.1.2600.1321

Does anybody have a different version they would be willing to email?

Or any other solution to the toggle problem with the MCE remote?

Thanks

Okay...partial solution....

I restored the MCE2004 irbus.sys.

Then on the repeating commands I desired, I just did 2 links...

The first to the "UP" or whatever command
The second to the command "clear"

Obviously, this still doesn't work if you want to enter channels directly like "33" because the clear clears the channel input before the second 3 is input.

Added note: I wrote up a more complete solution including some other interesting resources in the TSU3000 forum: [Link: remotecentral.com]

Larry,

Can you post that link here or mail it to me. I have used "do nothing" commands and as you mentioned... they make it awfully hard to get through 500 hours of music which grows daily.

Thanks in advance

Larry,

Thanks for the link... it worked!

Only problem is the "repeat when held" nature of the MCPC remote is not available with the pronto. The MCPC remote allows a speedy look through my over 700 artists while the pronto requires individual presses. Anyone know how to get a button to repeat when held?
