First of all, I realize that there has been a lot of discussion on the rechargeable battery problem with the Pronto, and I have read through most of them. However, I have not been able to solve my problem.

I just got a used TSU2000 with a rechargeable battery. For some reason, the blinking battery indicator is always on after the initial boot up. As first I thought it was due to a bad rechargeable battery. So I tried using brand new alkaline batteries but the same problem occurs. Also, I used the same rechargeable battery in my TSU1000 without any problems and level does not appear to be low. The battery contacts appear to be clean, but this appears to be a case of the battery sensor gone bad.

I have read in the other threads about the trick to go into the setup screen to teach the pronto to correctly detect the new battery level. However, my problem is that I cannot enter the setup screen because a warning would come out everytime stating that I cannot change modes because of the low battery level!! I tried updating the firmware and reseting the pronto multiple times without any success. Any advice on how to correct the battery sensor problem or ways to get into the setup menus would be appreciated. Thanks.

Take the battery out for a while. Like a hour or so to let the caps drain. Then replace the pack to see what happens. That is my best idea.

I do have question though. How do you know what the battery level is? Unless you used an outside meter, instead of the one built into the remote. Via set up page 1.

Thanks for the idea. I will try to discharge the Pronto completely by leaving the battery out. The only way I can assess the battery level is by using my other Pronto and using its battery meter. The alkaline batteries and the rechargeable one do not have problems in my other Pronto.
