Try as they might, TV manufactueres cannot build a set that will last forever. I gues s the key term you used was "Older" Dince Mits hanst even made consumer level Tube TV's in about 6 years I would guess your talking about 6-10+ year old sets....

Well... They do stop working on occation...... And no, its not related to the use (Or abuse) of discrete codes.

Thanks for the info I was just wondering if it was a coincidence or if it had happened to anyone else.I used the discretes from the discretes infrared hex codes found here(alt on/off)for mits and since it happened twice I didnt want it to happen to anyone else, if the discrete was the case.

Thanks again

Maybe the code you used turned the power off rather than put the TV into standby. TVs don't like power off.

It was the power off discrete i used and both customers said the tv worked for about a week after Pronto programming then lost video, but like i said before it was the Alt Mitsubishi on/off discrete that I use when the other discretes wont work, mainly the older model 5-10 year old Mitsubishi sets.As a side note both customers said they had the video go out before, and had repair work done previously.
