Now none of the devices are labeled in the touchscreen setup, and all the buttons are blank. When I attempt to update the firmware with the US version it fails. Any suggestion on how to get my remote operational again. I am afraid I will need to purchare a new remote at this point.

Thanks,

Brian

Brian,

I wouldn't think that uploading the European version of the firmware would have any negative results, the differences are minimal, especially since the RC5000 doesn't have a Universal Database. I've updated my RC9200 with the European firmware without problem. I suspect something else is going on.

I'm not sure what you mean by "none of the devices are labeled in touchscreen setup". What the software is displaying has nothing to do with what firmware you have loaded in the remote. This would lead me to believe that the problem is with the ccf.

Have you tried uploading (to the remote) your ccf again? If that doesn't work, try a 5000 ccf from the files area. It's possible that your ccf has become corrupted. You could also try reflashing the UK firmware, couldn't do any further harm. This would make sure that the remote can still take a firmware update.

Sounds like you are looking at an empty CCF in Touchscreen Setup.

The only difference between the US and the UK firmware versions is the default CCF file (a few different buttons).
