I know I said that I had a GREAT experience with Philips Customer Support, but they got to me yesterday. I sent my Por in on Monday and called them to ship my replacement out. They said it would arrive to me the following Monday via UPS. I said "Damn, I'm leaving on monday morning for my honeymoon and won't be there to sign for it. Can I have you send it 2nd day air and I'll cover the cost?". They charged my card and said it would be hear yesterday. When I called and asked for the tracking number, I looked it up on the UPS website and saw it would be in Colorado on Friday. I was a little bummed out that it wouldn't make it until Friday, and a little more upset that it was going to Colorado instead of Massachusetts (Where I live). So I called them back and informed them that he must have given me the wrong tracking number and then noticed that that was sent 2nd day air. He put me on hold and came back with his first words being "Sir, it was an honest mistake..." Needless to say, if you live in CO, and just recieved your replacement pro nice and quick, guess who paid for that? LOL. He told me that he would send it out "Right away" and overnight it to me. He also said he would call me back with the tracking number...he never did. I guess I'll call them today. It just kinda pises me off looking at my empty docking station wondering if and when there will be a remote back in it someday.

Are you lonesome tonight?
Do you miss me tonight?
Are you sorry
We drifted apart?

Does your memory stray
To a bright summer day?
When I kissed you
And called you sweetheart?

Do the chairs in your parlor
Seem empty and bare?
Do you gaze at your doorstep
And picture me there?

Is your heart filled with pain,
Shall I come back again?
Tell me dear,
Are you lonesome tonight?

I wonder
If you're lonesome tonight
You know someone said
That the world's a stage
And we each must play a part.
Fate had me playing in love
With you as my sweetheart.

Act one was when we met
I loved you at first glance
You read your lines so cleverly
And never missed a cue

And then came act two
You seemed to change,
You acted strange
And why I'll never know
Honey, you lied when
You said you love me
And I had no cause to doubt you.
But I'd rather go on hearing your lies
Than to go on living without you.

Now the stage is bare
And I'm standing there
With emptiness all around
And if you won't come back to me
Then they can bring
The curtains down

Is your heart filled with pain,
Shall I come back again?
Tell me dear,
Are you lonesome tonight?

Awwwwwwe...I feel the tears coming. Actually, I just wanted to say that Philips did me right. The new remote just arrived and it looks brand new. Connected to the computer right away. And, yes...I am lonesome tonight. Why do you ask? Wanna come over for some beer and pinball?

McNasty,

Glad to hear everything worked out. I had an experience with Marantz about 3 weeks ago. My charger base suddenly died. After making sure it wasn't the wall wart, I tried calling Marantz for warrantee support. Well, the 800 number printed on my warrantee card is non-functional, the 800 number in the manual is also non-functional, WTF. Their web site gives absolutely NO CLUE on how to obtain support. Finally got ahold of them using their long-distance number (my nickle of course). Their policy is to send back the charger, when they receive it, they mail out a new one. Only took a week, so thankfully I didn't need to drag out 8 or 9 remotes. As an aside, the price on the invoice for just the charger base (no wall wart) was $135. I thought inflation was under control.

Looks like you've just volunteered! Let us know when it is finished Dan. I'd be interested.
