I recently purchased a 2000 w/ a DS1000, both refurb.
It charged and operated perfect, until I charged the battery for the second time.
The charger light stays on for hours, then cuts off, but the remote says the battery is still dead.
I have taken the batt out about 20 times to R&R, cleaned contacts, everything.
The battery test at 4.9v, the charger tests at 11.8v, the remote works fine w/ AA's.
Is the remote not letting the batt charge? Is the batt not charging? Or is the charger not actually charging?
Thanks
Chris

don't rely on the battery/bar/indicator.....it's designed for use with the alkalines.

if you use the remote with the batt-pak, do you ever get the flashing battery indicator on the screen? that's what you need to pay attention to when using the batt-pak. when that starts flashing, then start charging.

Yes, the bat blinking indicator comes on as soon as the remote boots up. I get the message that the batt is too low and the remote shuts off. I'll put it on the charger, and three hours later I get the same thing. The green light on the DS stays solid green.

Under those circumstances, it's hard to say what is bad. I would think that the MOST likely problem is that the battery is shot, followed by a problem with the charger. I think it is unlikely that the problem is with the remote, but stranger things have happened.

I'd contact the seller and explain the problem. Since the battery comes with the charger, I'd ask to have him exchange those first, assuming the remote works fine with regular batteries.
