My 9200 has had the setup icon disabled sine I've had the unit. Now I want to teach it using the learn function and I cant get the setup menu back. I can get it by holding down for 6 sec, but I can't figure out how to revert this setting.

My gole is to learn a few function on a IR frame but the setup is only accesable from the start.

I'm using Tonto as my editor. Bit I don't see a way to set it from there.

I know it's somthing stupid ...

The Icon is actually still right where you left it. You just need to hold your finger on the area where it usually is for about 10 seconds to get your menu up.

Ken,

From the home menu press and hold for about six seconds where the missing icon is to activate the setup menu. Scroll down to the second page and change the mode menu to active. Press the setup button at the bottom of the screen and then the use button and that should do it.

Ken,

What are you trying to do, learn some codes? If so, enter setup as described above, and then activate the mode menu on page 2. When you leave setup you will be offered the choices to use, learn etc. The reason to activate the mode menu is that the next time you press the icon, these choices will pop up immediately.

Jim. I have very shocked. Did you read his last posting?????

Ken, the mode menu should be on page two as everyone is telling you. But since you said that you don't have that choice. Then that means that you, or someone else. Must of made the ccf copy written through the editor.

This is what you do....

Upload your ccf to the pc, to save it unless you know that you have it on your pc already.

Either way, open it in TSS.

Go to System properties and UNselect the box that says "ccf is copy written" This means that no one can use the mode button since it's gone.

If you dont have that opition in TSS, then you must have ProntoINI workshop. This will work with tss as well. If you dont have that, then download it from the file section of this web site.

Once you open prontoini workshop, click on "developer mode" This will make the "coyp written" box appear. You have to make sure that you restart tss though.

I don't think that Tonto can do this, unless it can be done by default. Because prontoini will not work on that program.

Sorry for the "shock" Rob. Yep you're right, except that it's disable "configuration is write protected" not ccf (must'a been a typo on your part ). Just an FYI, Tonto has no need to enable developer mode in order to accomplish this procedure - it's default.

Rob....

Thanks, that was it. I am trying to change a few learned commands and was not having any luck through the PC and as per the Faq I wanted to do this directly remote to remote.

Also in the prossess of trying to do this I saw that you can't do a learn when in the Macro directory or alias directory where the IR code pages are within the Macro directory (I hpe that is clear). I using Easy Theater 1.3 for the 9200. The directory structure is a strange but that is where I started. There's not much left of the orig CCF and I have a lot of work in it. So I need to finde a way around this. Maybe moving the pages to the device dir but then I will have a lot ow work to redirect everything.

Oh well... So many choices with too little exp. makes for a strange CCF

Thanks

Ken

If you have panels on the macro side you want to learn to, go into TSS and drag the Macro Group for the code buttons to the device side in the tree structure. Everything will re-alise automatically, so nothing is lost or broken. Download to the remote, learn, and then if you want, drag it back to the macro side.

Just to put Jim's words in bold. Make sure that you DRAG and DROP. Do not cut and paste. As this will erase the alaises.

Good to know. This will sole my delema.

Can I also do this in Tonto. I started there and am nervous about saving in TSS. I lost use of a pannel that I could see and had to revert to an old BU. Coast me a coupe of hours.

Ken,

Yes, Tonto works the same way.

One interesting little sidelight about Tonto. At the top of the tree, the "system" device, look at the "panel" that's the only thing listed under system. This is the stock panel that comes up when you add a panel under a macro group. It always ticked me off that I had to delete everything on this panel, before setting up the layout that I wanted. In Tonto, you can delete all the graphics on this panel, save a little bit of memory space, and never have to deal with it again. That is, unless you call up the ccf in TSS again. In that case the graphics will be restored to your ccf.
