My RC5000's LCD has given up and for the cost of repairing it I'm considering going for an RC5200.

Has anyone been able to compare the speed of both with regard to navigating to different screens. It was not exactly quick on the RC5000 and I wondered if it is a different processor in the 5200.

Any takers?

Thanks, saw that but still doesn't answer the question. I guess there may not be a whole lot in it but the rc5200 has 512k of sdram (or something like that) and maybe that has a performance impact?

So, even though they use the same processor.. is one faster than the other?

Technically the RC5200 might be slightly slower since there's more user editable screen space. This is only because what takes time is drawing buttons, and the more complex the file the longer it takes to draw. With more screen space, folks tend to pack on more buttons. :-)

Assuming identical files, they will perform the same. If speed is a concern, use page jumps instead of page forward/back scrolls and DON'T use the CCF Optimizer (which improves free space, not speed).
