Sony products are quite consistent across models about what signals are used for Discrete (and other) functions, though not consistent about which discretes exist at all.

There are lots of CCF files for Sony products here at RC. If you find a discrete for a similar model in some CCF, test it and it will probably work. If it doesn't work then test some basic function from the same CCF. If that does work than you can be nearly sure that your model lacks that specific discrete. If the basic function doesn't work either, pick a different "similar model".

The less experimental route is to use RHM's site to look up the command numbers of the discrete functions
[Link: anycities.com]
then use my MakeHex program (or one of a few related tools) to generate clean Pronto Hex for the desired command numbers and test those (it still requires experiments, but with fewer unknowns involved, but2 it requires more understanding of the underlying principles vs. just trying commands from someone else's CCF).

John, why are you confusing the guy??????

tink339. For wherever you got the ir codes. Like the file section of this web site. All you have to do is this........

Copy the ir code, using the right mouse button to cut it.

Open the button for which you want that code to go into.

Make sure that the action list is cleared out of any actions.

Click on "set ir"

On that window there should be a "view ir". Click on it.

That should bring down another pull down window off of the new window.

Then just paste the copied ir code in there. Click on all the "ok"s. And repeat for each ir code that you want.

I was wondering that myself after I posted.

I guess I misread the question. You know the OLD joke "why do firemen wear red suspenders"?

I looked at "how to program the discreet codes for sony products into the Pronto TSU6000." and I saw
"how to program the discreet codes for sony products"

You looked at it and saw "how to program codes into the Pronto"

Hey don't sweat it John. I noticed on your other post that you're not a "Pronto Edit" expert and don't even own a Pronto. I think it's great that your contributing what you do know - IR codes and structure. In other words, you can answer a whole lot of questions that I can't. Keep up the good work.
