Right now I am using numbuilder (a girder plugin) to open a .m3u file that coresponds to the button I press on the remote via a list built through supernudelist. The album opens up fine, but my problem is that SNL also has track support, but if I use the numbers it'll open a new album. I thought about using some sort of "shift" key to try and disable the "album" group and enable a "track" group but I don't know how to tell SNL to do this. If anyone could give me a hand I'd greatly appreciate it!

First off,

You should search for the Supernudelist support thread. Your question belongs there.

If you want to try something in SNL, you should consider using the 'Before Track*' and 'After Track*' entries under your SNL Player.

If this does not work, I might suggest trying Bruce Hartley's site referenced multiple times in the SNL support thread.

Do a quick search in this forum for MP3 and Girder and you should find the link.

I am just not seeing an answer. Searched the SNL support thread for "girder" and came up with nothing. Searched the girder threads for "pronto" and came up with nothing that applied. The real simple question here is, how do I get SNL to tell girder weather I'm selecting a track or a disc?

JAlpert,

I'm not intentionally trying to snub you here. I just did a search over the last 6 months in this forum for MP3 and Girder and found 27 hits. Did you read them all?

The point for having you do the search was to find Bruce Hartley's website where he has used Girder to control an MP3 player with SNL. The search yields the following URL. You may be able to get some info from Liam as well. His email address is in this thread.

You should investigate:

In your SNL Player, you must define IR codes for 'Before/After Disc' and 'Before/After Track (1 and 2 digits). Girder should then translate this IR to a keypress that selects the 'Disc' or 'Track' entry for your player. I don't know what player you are using and cannot therefore give you a specific answer.

Additionally, I don't use Girder but am using a Streamzap remote and SNL to control a custom media player I wrote.

Your best bet for getting the issue resolved is through Bruce Hartley's site/email.

I found that site, and it does a good job in telling someone how to set up SNL with your mp3 info... It doesn't however go into the details of setting up girder to work with snl. I started to figure it out, then decided that having next track, prev track, pause, things of that nature was better on the screen anyway as apposed to the list of the tracks... thanks anyway

JAlpert,

I'm the last person who should be giving SNL/Girder advice. Like many others who have more expensive Video-capable CD Changers, you don't want to give up the video for an SNL track list. That I understand. However, I hope that you don't give up on SNL. It does have its uses.

If you have specific girder questions, you might email Bruce directly or email some of the other members who have posted Girder/MP3 SNL questions in the support thread.

I wish I could be of more assistance but I would be venturing into uncharted waters.
